LOWELL | The town is collecting caps from milk bottles, detergents, snap-on cottage cheese and more to be recycled and made into benches for the community.

Part of a program with the Lake County Solid Waste District, the caps will be collected until Jan. 3.

Lids such as those from coffee cans and yogurt containers are also recyclable.

The caps can be dropped off at Town Hall, 501 E. Main Street and the parks department office at 17105 Cline Avenue.

Questions should be directed to (219) 696-7794, ext. 16.
