LOWELL | The Town Council has scheduled special meetings for tonight and Wednesday.

The council will meet at 6 tonight in a work session to discuss the annexation of acreage owned by Republic Services and operated as a construction landfill. It is west of Lowell, but east of U.S. 41.

On Wednesday, the council will meet in a joint session with the Lowell Stormwater Drainage Board at 7 p.m. to discuss retention and detention ponds in the town.
