LOWELL | Lowell High School students will mix it up from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday.

Mix it Up at Lunch Day is aimed at taking a stand against bullying by getting students to acquaint themselves with students outside their comfort zone.

Assistant Principal Mike Chelap said the event was designed by the Southern Poverty Law Center and should foster respect between social groups and a sense of school spirit and unity.

Students will be encouraged to sit with someone new and learn those things they have in common. Busting barriers at lunch will be accompanied by spirit week dress up days.
