LOWELL | A 21-year-old Lowell man, caught on surveillance video, has been charged with burglarizing a gas station and stealing $2,200 worth of lottery tickets.
If convicted of burglary, a Class C felony and criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor, Joseph C. Sepulveda faces a maxim term of nine years in prison.
Lowell police responded on Feb. 28 to a report of forced entry into the Smart Shop Gas Station on Mills St. A suspect was caught on video surveillance tape entering the station between 11 p.m. and midnight Feb. 27 taking $2,200 in lottery tickets, police said.
The suspect unsuccessfully tried to cash the tickets in in Lowell and Crown Point.
Police said officers were able to identify the suspect through the surveillance photos and further investigation and arrested him.
Police said Sepulveda confessed to the burglary.
