LOWELL | The town will sound warning sirens twice today as part of the Weather Preparedness Week drill day.

The sirens will sound between 9 and 9:30 a.m. and 6:30 and 7 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service website, the goal of Severe Weather Preparedness Week is to better educate people about the hazards of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes and to help everyone be prepared when severe weather occurs.
