LOWELL | The Town Council has appointed Keith Kilmer to the Lowell Police Commission to serve out the two years remaining on John Ammons' term.
Ammons recently died.
Kilmer previously served on the commission and was its president at the time he resigned. He said then he had concerns his appointment as the head coach of the Lowell High School football team would not leave adequate time for the commission.
Council President Phillip Kuiper, D-4th, said two seats on the commission will come up for reappointment at the end of the year.
