LOWELL | A Lowell woman was injured in a two-car crash Tuesday night when a pickup truck pulled in front of her vehicle while leaving a gas station lot.
Sharon Patterson, 45, of Lowell, was transported to Franciscan St. Anthony Health in Crown Point with minor injuries, Lowell Police Chief John Shelhart said. The crash occurred at the entrance/exit at the Speedway gas station at 2101 E. Commercial Ave.
Hannah Millard, 16, of Crown Point, driving a 1997 Dodge pickup truck, attempted to leave the gas station and head east on Ind. 2 and was waved out by drivers stopped for the light on westbound Ind. 2.
Millard, who was issued a citation for failure to yield, did not see Patterson’s 2006 Ford approaching the light in the left turn lane and pulled into its path, police said.
