LOWELL | The Tri-Creek School Board unveiled and officially dedicated the Lowell Middle School mural Thursday.

With the message "Make it a great day, or not. The choice is yours," as a focal point, the mural in the school's gym was a year in the making.

School Principal Rebecca Pavich said four student designs were selected following a contest and combined to create the mural.

The winning students — Jamie Kuiken, Kirsten Witrykowski, Amanda Marinceski, Katie Leigh and Karoline Chraponski — painted the mural with help from high school students Sarah Heiny, Heather Carey and Jordan Szorc.*

"We wanted to make it our own," Pavich said of the idea for the mural at the new school building.

She credited art teacher Sherry Stout and the LMS Parent/Teachers Organization for their contributions and support of the project.
