New headstones for the Robbins brothers

Lowell-area brothers Stillman and Albert Robbins each served in separate Indiana regiments during the Civil War, and both died within weeks of each other in 1864 while in service. Stillman reportedly died of a hemorrhage following a bout with fever, and Albert died of wounds he suffered at the Battle of Atlanta. Their graves at Lowell Memorial Cemetery received new government-issued granite markers last year through the efforts of the Calumet Region Civil War Preservation Project.
