Opera singer Brenda Roberts to appear in concert Sunday

LOWELL | Soprano Brenda Roberts will present a recital of opera, art songs and sacred songs at 3 p.m. Sunday at United Methodist Church of Lowell.

Roberts, a Lowell native, returned to the area following an acclaimed career in opera, most notably in the dramatic soprano roles of Strauss and Wagner. She has performed before audiences at LaScala in Milan, Chicago's Lyric Opera and the New York Metropolitan Opera. She's also shared the stage with such notables as Birgitte Nilsson and Placido Domingo.

There is no admission fee. Donations will be accepted.
