LOWELL | The Lowell Police Department is seeking information about a man who tried to entice two young girls into his car Friday night offering candy and money.

The incident occurred at 7:14 p.m. in the Carriage Crossing subdivision, which is south of Ind. 2 behind the Chevrolet dealership, police said.

Cpl. James Woestman said the girls, ages 7 and 8, ran away from the man to their parents, who contacted Lowell police. The vehicle was described as a gold newer model SUV, possibly a Ford Expedition, police said.

The man is described as white, in his early 20s with dark hair.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Woestman or Detective David Lee at (219) 696-0411.
