LOWELL | Tri-Creek Lumber and Hardware is sponsoring its seventh annual Winter Coat Drive through Dec. 28.
In the past six years, area residents have donated more than 2,300 winter coats and a large number of new hats, gloves and scarves.
Coats will be distributed to area churches and The St. Jude House in Crown Point.
New and/or gently worn clean winter coats in all sizes are being accepted at Tri-Creek Lumber, 1895 E. Commercial Ave., from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Saturdays.
Some recipients may not have the means to wash and dry their coats prior to wearing, so please donate clean coats.
Coats for school-age children are the most often requested sizes and donations for these sizes can be very low.
Also accepted are new hats, gloves, mittens and scarves. Handmade hats, scarves and gloves also are accepted.
