LOWELL | Tri-Creek Lumber and Hardware is holding its annual winter coat drive through Dec. 28.
In the past six years, residents have donated more than 2,300 winter coats and a large number of new hats, gloves and scarves.
Coats will be distributed to churches and St. Jude House in Crown Point.
New and gently worn clean winter coats in all sizes are being accepted from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Tri-Creek Lumber, 1895 E. Commercial Ave.
Some recipients may not have the means to wash and dry their coats before wearing, so donate clean clothes.
Coats for school-age children are requested most.
