MERRILLVILLE | The Audio Visual Department of the Lake County Public Library, 1919 W. U.S. 30, is hosting a special film presentation at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. "Everglades of the North: The Story of the Grand Kankakee Marsh" is a missing piece of U.S. ecology that compels the viewer to consider the vital role wetlands and prairies play in the ecosystem, and delivers the ongoing and living story of the marsh through expert interviews, high-definition wildlife footage, historic never-before-seen photographs and dramatic recreations. The filmmakers will be on hand to answer questions after the showing. Register by phone at (219) 769-3541, ext. 317 or online at www.lcplin.org/branches/cnl.htm.
