HOBART | Former U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald will speak Thursday at the ethics in government breakfast in Hobart.
The breakfast is from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Avalon Manor in Hobart. The event includes a panel discussion with East Chicago Mayor Anthony Copeland, Schererville Town Manager Robert Volkmann and Times staff writer Bill Dolan.
Fitzgerald, who is the keynote speaker, was the U.S. attorney for the Northern District of Illinois. Two of the cases he is known for are the convictions on corruption charges of former Illinois governors George Ryan and Rod Blagojevich.
