MERRILLVILLE | Iron Workers Local 395 recently became the first union to be accepted as a subscriber to the Northwest Indiana Business Roundtable.
Subscribers to NWIBRT consist of organizations individuals with interest in local construction and maintenance activities.
Douglas J. Strayer, Business Manager for Iron Workers Local 395, said the union joined the organization in order to further collaborate with NWIBRT members that work with contractors and unions in the construction and maintenance industries.
“I'm very proud of our outstanding relationship with our contractors, and I'm looking forward to furthering our commitment to the union movement with our customers,” Strayer said. “We are the first local union to join NWIBRT, and we are doing so because we recognize the importance of working in partnership with contractors in Northwest Indiana.”
NWIBRT brings owners, contractors, unions, subcontractors, suppliers and associates together in an ongoing forum to discuss safety, project management, productivity, facility maintenance and more.
Subscribers also attend NWIBRT events such as the Annual NWIBRT/CAF Awards Banquet on May 16 and the NWIBRT Annual Golf Outing on July 22.
