MERRILLVILLE | Police are seeking information about a shooting Sunday that wounded a Merrillville man.
A "disturbance" between two people about 6:30 p.m. Sunday led to the shooting near the 6000 block of Jefferson Street, Merrillville police Detective Joe Cooper said.
Police didn't release details regarding what prompted the disturbance.
A Merrillville man suffered a gunshot wound near his hip, police said.
The man was taken to Methodist Hospitals Southlake Campus for treatment. He was in stable condition Monday, Cooper said.
Police are searching for a white Pontiac that could have been used after the shooting, Cooper said.
