MERRILLVILLE | Proceeds from the Merrillville High School Key Club Carnival tonight will benefit Riley’s Children’s Hospital and Walk for Wigs.
Walk for Wigs raises funds to help cancer patients purchase wigs during chemo.
Tickets are $5. Adults with children are free at the
Hollywood-themed event, which will be held in the freshman café from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Highlighting the event will be appearances by Rusty the Railcat and the Chick-Fil-A mascot who will give out coupons. After the opening ceremony at 5 p.m., there will be performances by the Merrillville High School cheerleaders and dance team, a magician, the high school Slam Poetry team and the Block Puppet Troupe.
Hot dogs, chips, soft drinks and water will be sold. There will be a moon bounce and 25 games including: Do the Matrix limbo; Akeela and the Bees Hop Scotch;
Willy Wonka Sucker Pull; the Sandlot’s Gum Blowing contest; Pin the Head on an Actor/Actress; Lady Gaga Face Painting; Bozo Circus Buckets; Movie Trivia; Honey
Boo Boo’s Coloring Table; Hollywood Square’s Cupcake Walk; Dancing with the Stars Freeze Dance, Hooray for Hollywood Bowling, the Harry Potter Checkers/Chess Match and Professor Snape’s Memory Game.
