MERRILLVILLE | Merrillville Intermediate School collects $1,513.00 for Toys for Tots. Each homeroom class collected money. Mrs. Herbert’s 5th Grade White Team homeroom won the competition by collecting $132.40. They will receive a pizza party!
The MIS Student Council Members took all the money and headed to Wal-Mart to purchase toys. Each member had $37.00 to spend. Items were purchased for babies to teenage children. Each student carefully calculated each item’s cost.
Pastor Sims collected the items purchased for Toys for Tots. Santa will be distributing the toys on Wednesday/19 December 2012 night to 5,000-7,000 needy children.
Pastor Sims gave Mrs. Baldwin/Student Council Advisor a crisp $100.00 for the winning homeroom’s pizza party.
