MERRILLVILLE | Mr. Demmon’s fifth grade math class at Merrillville Intermediate School worked on measuring correctly with a yard stick.

You first have to decide if you are measuring in inches or centimeters. You then use the first line on your stick as the starting point. There are lines for 1/4, 1/2, 3/4, etc. It is easy to know the exact inches of objects when you measure correctly. Always measure twice and cut once.
