MERRILLVILLE | Merrillville Intermediate School (MIS) 5th graders started out today in a new school for the new school year.

The five Merrillville Elementary Buildings melt into MIS when the students are in 5th grade. All 500+ 5th grade students and 500+ 6th grade students started their day off in the gym after getting their schedule. The new MIS principal, Mrs. Lisa Patrick, gave all a Welcome back to school pep talk.

All were ready to start the new school year off with a thumbs up. Once released from the gym it was off in a single file quiet line to try their lockers and lunch. Many new friends were made today.
