Christmas Eve services
MERRILLVILLE | Bethel Church invites the Northwest Indiana community to attend its annual Christmas Eve services at 2 and 4 p.m. at the Star Plaza Theatre, U.S. 30 and Interstate 65. Each service will feature a special choir, a mix of traditional Christmas songs with contemporary worship music, and preaching by Bethel Senior Pastor Steve DeWitt. Child care is not provided, but families are encouraged to bring their children into the service.

GARY | State Rep. Vernon Smith, D-Gary, hosts his 25th annual Silver Spirit of Christmas dinner from 1 to 4 p.m. at Ivy Tech College, 1440 E. 35th Ave., Gary. It's free and open to the public.
