CPHS hosts college, career fair

CROWN POINT | Crown Point High School is sponsoring a College and Career Fair with 50 colleges in attendance from 5 to 7 p.m at the high school, 1500 S Main St. It's open to students from Crown Point, Lowell, Hanover Central, Merrillville and Lake Central high schools.



Food drive slated at PUC

HAMMOND | Help the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana Stuff the Truck from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of the Hospitality and Tourism Management building at Purdue University Calumet, 2200 169th St., Hammond. Donations of peanut butter will be accepted as part of the Spread the Love peanut butter food drive.


NWISO concert, gala in M'ville

MERRILLVILLE | The Northwest Indiana Symphony Orchestra hosts its opening concert and gala from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza Celebrity Ballroom. It includes dinner at the Celebrity Ballroom at the Hotel, the "Cirque de la Symphony" concert, and a champagne and dessert reception post-concert with Maestro Muspratt, orchestra members and some guest artists at the Star Plaza Theatre.
