MUNSTER | Cancer Resource Centre, 926 Ridge Road, offers free education programs, mind/body/spirit classes and support groups for those with a cancer diagnosis and their caregivers. Call (219) 836-3349 to register.

Programs for the upcoming week:

Yoga, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday and 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday — Breath and stretch your body and mind. A prescription from a physician is required prior to attending.

Breast Cancer Support Group, 6:30-8 p.m. Monday — All women with a breast cancer diagnosis, newly diagnosed to long-term survivors, are welcome to share their concerns, stories and experiences.

Wellness Support Group, 10 to 11:30 a.m. or 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday — Share feelings, receive support and learn ways to cope with the experience of having cancer.

Chair Massage, 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday — Relax, reduce stress and possibly promote sleep with a 20-minute chair massage. A prescription from a physician is required prior to attending.

Mind Over Matter Support Group, 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday — Explore factors that impact mood and effect functioning; develop skills to help address and counter the negative elements when facing cancer.

Healing Hearts Grief Support Group, 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday — Facilitated by Hospice of the Calumet Area, join others who have lost a loved one to share experiences, struggles, feelings and triumphs.

Chi Gong, 9:30-10:30 a.m. May 8 — Learn this ancient healing art of breath, movement, non-movement and meditation during a one-hour session of warm-ups, positions and focused movements. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Knit One…Nurture Too, 1-2:30 p.m. May 8 — All skill levels knit or crochet squares, scarves or afghans. Supplies provided, or bring your own.

Chair Yoga, 2 to 3 p.m. May 8 — Designed for those who have difficulty with the regular yoga environment, sit or use a chair for balance. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Tai Chi, 9:30-10:30 a.m. May 9 — Class emphasizes balance, posture, breathing techniques, concentration and complete relaxation. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.
