MUNSTER | Cancer Resource Centre, 926 Ridge Road, offers free education programs, mind/body/spirit classes and support groups for those with a cancer diagnosis and their caregivers. Call (219) 836-3349 to register for all programs.

Upcoming programs:

Yoga, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday and 6-7 p.m. Wednesday — Breathe and stretch body and mind in classes therapeutic and restorative. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Empowerment Drumming, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday — Can reduce stress, increase energy and well-being. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Breast Cancer Support Group, 6:30-8 p.m. Monday — All women with a breast cancer diagnosis, newly diagnosed to long-term survivors, are welcome to share their concerns, stories and experiences.

Wellness Support Group, 10-11:30 a.m. and 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday — Provides an opportunity to share feelings, receive support and learn ways to cope with the experience of having cancer.

Blood Cancers Support Group, 6-7 p.m. Tuesday  — Designed for adult family/friends and those with a diagnosis of leukemia, Hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma or multiple myeloma, this group is offered in conjunction with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Chair Massage, 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday — Enjoy the benefits of a 20-minute chair massage to relax the body, reduce mental stress, anxiety and may promote better sleep. A prescription from a physician is required prior to attending.

Healing Touch, 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday — Hands-on, energy-based techniques balance and align human energy field. A prescription from a physician is required prior to attending.

Healing Hearts Grief Support Group, 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday — Facilitated by Hospice of the Calumet Area, join others who have lost a loved one to share experiences, struggles, feelings and triumphs.

Chi Gong, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday — Experience this therapeutic form of Eastern medicine and feel revitalized during a one-hour session of warm-ups, positions and focused movements. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Chair Yoga, 2-3 p.m. Thursday — Designed for those who have difficulty with the regular yoga environment, sit or use a chair for balance. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Tai Chi, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Feb. 22 — Classes emphasize balance, posture, breathing techniques, concentration and complete relaxation. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.
