MUNSTER | Cancer Resource Centre, 926 Ridge Road, offers free education programs, mind/body/spirit classes and support groups for those with a cancer diagnosis and caregivers. Call (219) 836-3349 to register.

Upcoming programs:

Yoga, 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday and 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday — Breathe and stretch your body and mind at this therapeutic and restorative class. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Reflexology, 1-3 p.m. Monday — Reflexology is the practice of treating the whole body by touching the feet and sometimes the palms. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Wellness Support Group, 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday — Share feelings, receive support and learn ways to cope with the experience of having cancer.

Helping Your Body’s Immune System: A Healthy Mouth=A Healthy Body, 2-3:30 p.m. Tuesday — Learn how bacteria in your mouth may weaken your immune system’s ability to fight disease during radiation or chemotherapy. Facilitated by Jamila Miller, DDS, MSD.

Reiki, 9:30-11:30 a.m. Wednesday — a technique that aids the body in releasing stress and tension by creating deep relaxation and inner balance. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Family Matters Support Group, 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday — a comprehensive, educational and supportive program for patients, couples, spouses and caregivers coping with cancer in their family.

Chi Gong, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Nov. 14 — Learn this ancient healing art of breath, movement, non-movement and meditation during a one-hour session of warm-ups, positions and focused movements. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Chair Yoga, 2 to 3 p.m. Nov. 14 — Designed for those who have difficulty with the regular yoga environment, sit or use a chair for balance. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.

Knit One…Nurture Too, 1-2:30 p.m. Nov. 14 — Knitting and crocheting squares, scarves or afghan blankets. All skill levels welcome. Supplies provided, or bring your own.

Introduction to the Ukulele, 3-4:30 p.m. Nov. 14 — Learn how to play the ukulele from one of the region’s best. Rima Krutulis will facilitate.

Tai Chi, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Nov. 15 — This "Meditation in Motion" class emphasizes balance, posture, breathing techniques, concentration and complete relaxation. A prescription from your physician is required prior to attending.
