MUNSTER | International soloist and founding member of “The Irish Tenors” Anthony Kearns will present a program of Broadway hits, opera favorites and classic Irish songs at 2 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Munster High School Auditorium, 8808 Columbia Ave.
The concert is sponsored by the Northwest Indiana Concert Association, which has been presenting concerts to the community since 1947. NWICA is committed “offer to every man, woman and child the opportunity to experience the magic of live performance at an affordable cost.”
Single tickets will be available on the night of the performance for $25. Season subscriptions for one or two adults are $65 and $130, respectively; add $15 for a family subscription that includes school-age children. Kearns achieved international celebrity status as a member of "The Irish Tenors," appearing in three highly successful PBS broadcasts (1999, 2000 and 2001). While the trio continues to tour annually, Kearns has met with success as a recitalist with symphony orchestras and on the opera stage.
Appearances include a performance for President Barack Obama with Friends of Ireland at the Capitol in Washington, D.C., a celebration of the Kennedy family’s Irish roots (Ireland), and ongoing concertizing around the globe in support of “ThanksUSA!” and “USO Wounded Warriors.” Kearns recorded nine albums with "The Irish Tenors"; his first solo project was released in October.
