MUNSTER | The driver of a vehicle who was following another too closely is being blamed for a four-vehicle crash Monday morning near Centennial Park.
The crash happened at 9:13 a.m. as Carol Robinson, of Schererville, was heading north on Calumet Avenue and was getting ready to turn onto Palmer C. Singleton Drive, Munster police said.
Robinson's vehicle was rear-ended by a second vehicle driven by Samantha Zacharias, of Dyer, police said.
The impact of the crash pushed Robinson's car into the southbound lanes, where two other vehicles crashed into her car, police said. The two southbound vehicles were driven by Denise Duckett, of Munster, and Theodore Lavizzo, of South Holland.
Police said the motorists reported minor injuries and were treated on scene by emergency workers.
Zacharias was cited for following too closely.
