LOWELL | The second class of inductees in the annual Lowell High School Alumni of the Year ranges from politicians and entrepreneurs to a bowling industry executive.
Luan Brown, president of the Tri-Creek Education Foundation, which sponsors the program, said the hope is to inspire today's students and the community by showing the impressive levels of professional and personal success attained by Lowell High graduates.
An induction reception and ceremony will be held at the school on April 21. The honorees reception will begin at 2 p.m. with hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $12.
Those being honored in the Yesteryear Era are Marge Ashton Beier, class of 1945, and Paul Roberts, class of 1939.
The five honorees in the Modern Era category are K. Bart Burger, a 1983 graduate; Stephen Carter, class of 1972; Thomas Felder, class of 1965; Rocky Killion, class of 1976; and Rick Niemeyer, class of 1969.
