CROWN POINT | A Munster man charged with driving drunk and causing a death Friday morning bonded out of jail Saturday.
Michael Temores, 24, was released from Lake County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
Fred Skafgaard, 61, of Lansing, died in a car wreck near the intersection of Ridge Road and Hohman Avenue when his GMC pickup truck was struck by a Cadillac truck driven by Temores, police said.
Temores was charged Saturday with 18 criminal and traffic offenses, the most serious being operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated resulting in a death, which is a Class B felony.
Before the crash, Temores had been at the grand opening of the Hammond club AquaVor, 5260 Hohman Ave., police said.
