MUNSTER | Munster School Corp. Superintendent Richard Sopko talked about the importance of voting "Yes" to the referendum on May 7 at the Rotary's weekly meeting this afternoon.
Sopko pointed to Munster's five Four-Star School status (Indiana's highest ranking) and the dedication of students, teachers, administrators and school community to attain such academic excellence.
"This referendum is really about investing in our future," said Stephen Scheckel, Munster Police chief and Munster Rotary president. "We have numerous things to be proud of and there are just so many people that move here and live here because of our top quality school system."
The Munster Rotary Club funds various initiatives, which include scholarships, community organizations and national service projects such as a clean water initiative located in an underserved town in Mexico.
