MUNSTER | No one was injured in an ammonia spill Friday morning in the PepsiCo plant. The spill was contained inside the building, Munster Fire Chief Jim Knesek said.
"There was no danger to the public," he said.
The incident happened about 4 a.m. Friday, and workers were evacuated from the plant at 9300 Calumet Ave., he said. Hazardous materials crews responded to the scene.
No one from the company was available to comment early Friday morning.
