MUNSTER | The School Town of Munster will hold a public forum pursuant to its consideration of seeking a General Operating Fund Referendum beginning 2014. The forums will be held on Monday, Feb. 4 and Tuesday, Feb. 5 in the Munster High School Auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
An overview of the need for the referendum and general financial considerations will be presented by Superintendent, Richard Sopko. In addition, London Witte Group, LLC, will provide a third party analysis about the process of a General Fund Referendum and provide historical and projected analysis to illustrate the School Town’s need for a referendum tax levy in the General Fund.
School Board President, John Friend, will speak about the need for community input to assist the Board of School Trustees to determine whether to proceed with a General Operating Fund Referendum. After Mr. Friend’s portion of the program, residents will be provided the opportunity to submit comments in support of or against the referendum.
