Creative writing workshop

Help fund cancer research

GRIFFITH | The second annual Adler's Birthday Walk to benefit Riley Children's Hospital pediatric brain cancer research is from noon to 4 p.m. at the Griffith High School field house, 600 N. Wiggs St. It's in memory of Adler Bryce Shelbourne, a 3-year-old who died of a rare, aggressive brain tumor, in 2012. Walkers are asked to raise a minimum of $30 each to participate. Game watch/food drive

MERRILLVILLE | The Purdue Alumni Club of Northwest Indiana holds a game watch/food drive from 4 to 7 p.m. at Catch 22 Restaurant & Sports Bar, 500 E. U.S. 30, Merrillville. The club will collect nonperishable food items, paper goods, household items and donations for local food pantries.
