Building an ever better Northwest Indiana is the aim of a merger of two regional civic organizations.

One Region: One Vision for Northwest Indiana's Quality of Life is the group formed by merger of The Quality of Life Council and the One Region: One Vision initiative.

J. Guadalupe Valtierra, chancellor of Ivy Tech Community College, and Bill Masterson Jr., publisher of The Times, who serve as co-chairmen, announced formation of the group Saturday.
