A national child welfare organization is asking for the public's help locating a missing 14-year-old girl who may travel in the areas surrounding Chicago and Gary.

Ashanti Keys went missing on Sept. 30, 2016, and was last seen in Richton Park, Illinois, according to a news release from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.

Keys is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing approximately 130 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information about Keys' whereabouts can contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678 (1-800-THE-LOST) or the Richton Park Police Department at 708-481-8911.
