Lane restrictions are in place for a portion of Interstate 65 through early December, the Indiana Department of Transportation has announced.

Specifically, I-65 will be restricted to one northbound lane and one southbound lane during evening and overnight hours between the U.S. 231 exit and just south of the Ind. 2 exit.

Lane restrictions will be in place no earlier than 6 p.m. and no later than 10 a.m. during a Monday night through Saturday morning workweek.

Two lanes of traffic in each direction will be open during daytime hours. Crews are resurfacing the road and doing pipe and drain work.

In the event of backups or slowed traffic, message boards on I-65 will alert drivers to an alternative route to avoid the construction zone.
