Parts of the Region are under a severe thunderstorm watch until midnight Friday as storms over central Wisconsin aim southeast toward Northwest Indiana.
Lake, Porter, Jasper, Newton and Benton counties are among those listed in the watch area, according to an alert issued 6 p.m. Thursday by the National Weather Service.
Some storms may produce isolated, damaging wind gusts, according to the NWS.
The area also remains under a heat advisory through 7 p.m. Friday, with temperatures expected to reach the mid 90s Friday. Heat index values could reach 109 degrees.
