Christian lecture series

MUNSTER | St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church welcomes speaker and author the Rev. Ken Klaus, of Lutheran Hour Ministries, as part of the church's Compass Lecture Series from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 8601 Harrison Ave. Klaus will present The Jesus of Scripture (He may not be who you think He is). Ladies Day

BOURBONNAIS | Ladies Day 2013 at Olivet Nazarene University is planned from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Centennial Chapel, 1 University Ave. The program will feature guest speaker Gloria Gaither, soloist Allison Speer and the music of Proclamation Gospel Choir, plus a luncheon and product displays. Spring Festival

HAMMOND | St. Casimir School and Parish will hold its Spring Festival beginning at noon today and Sunday. Live entertainment is from 2 to 4 p.m. today with Stern Approval, followed by Hurry Sundown from 5 to 7 and Pump Boy Lee DJ from FM-103.5 from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. at 4330 Johnson Ave. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. Cornerstone Open Mic and Concert Night

VALPARAISO | Christ Lutheran Church is hosting its first Cornerstone Open Mic and Concert Night, featuring local groups Time Machine, Flight 1050, Sam Lawson, and the VU Celebrate! Band at 2610 N. Cantata

'Godspell' Praise Service

HAMMOND | Christ Lutheran Church of Hammond will celebrate a special Praise Service from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. at 7051 Indianapolis Blvd. Call (219) 805-8909.

Benefit for Josh

HIGHLAND | Redeemer Lutheran Church will host an Italian-style luncheon benefit for 20-year-old member Joshua Schutte from 12:30 to 3 p.m. at 9009 Kennedy Ave. Schutte was diagnosed with malignant brain cancer and faces treatment at Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. Tickets can be bought at the church office. Monetary donations are welcome and checks can be made payable to Redeemer Lutheran Church with Josh Schutte on the memo line. A PayPal account also has been established to accept donations. Visit the church website for more information. All funds will support Josh and his family with expenses related to his treatment. Divine Mercy Sunday

Fish Fry
