Preschool registration

DYER | Grace Lutheran Preschool (formerly known as On My Own Preschool) is accepting registration for the fall session at 8303 Sheffield Ave. The preschool is offering a three-day program meeting on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. SBC golf outing

HIGHLAND | Suburban Bible Church will host a golf outing from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Wicker Park, 8554 Indianapolis Blvd. Eighteen holes with cart, food, prizes and contests. Farewell party

GARY | The Staff Parish Relations Committee and members of Christ United Methodist Church invite people to attend a Farewell Party for the Rev. Dr. Katurah W. Johnson from 1 to 3 p.m. at the church, 201 W. Ridge Road. Johnson was assigned as the spiritual leader to Christ UMC in June 2007 and after seven years of service to the church and community, has been appointed senior pastor at Wall Street United Methodist Church, Jeffersonville, Ind., effective July 1. During her tenure, she has been involved not only with her duties as minister to Christ Church, but in the past three years has served as one of the North District's Associate Superintendents, and previous to that as a chaplain at Methodists Hospitals for two years. Movie screening

CHICAGO | The Knights of Columbus Gen. Pulaski Council 3323 will host a spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Columbia Social Center, 13323 S. Greenbay Ave. Dine on all-you-can-eat spaghetti and meatballs with meat sauce, salad, bread, dessert, coffee and milk. Carry outs are available. the cost is $8 for adults, $5 for ages 10 and younger. Church Youth Day

ST. Dance, social and benefit

GRIFFITH | All young adults in their 20s and 30s are invited to join in a fundraiser and social from 7 to 9 p.m. for Sojourner Truth House. Doors open at 6:45 pm. at Knights of Columbus Hall, 1400 S. Broad St. There will be basic dance lessons by a trained instructor followed by a casual dance and social. Snacks will be provided and there will be a cash bar. Couples and singles are welcome to join us for a great night out to benefit a worthy cause hosted and sponsored by Young Adult Catholic Outreach Ministries through the Diocese of Gary.
