We are excited to announce that Campagna Academy is one of hundreds of nonprofit organizations participating in the first-ever NWIgives event  scheduled for Feb. 12.

Organized and presented by Legacy Foundation and Lake Area United Way, NWIgives is an innovative online fundraising event that encourages individuals to donate as much money as possible in just 24 hours in support of their favorite charities across Lake, Porter and La Porte counties .

At Campagna Academy, we Restore Hope and Build Dreams in at-risk youth in our community. We are excited to partner with other nonprofits across Northwest Indiana to see how much we can raise to serve our communities.

The Lake County Community Fund of the Legacy Foundation has awarded a matching grant to us and we hope to raise donations up to $12,500, which will go toward renovations and re-opening of a vacant residential cottage on our campus to be able to serve more youth with intellectual/developmental disabilities.

Beginning at midnight Feb. 12 and continuing until 11:59 p.m., citizens throughout Northwest Indiana can go online to, connect with causes like Campagna Academy, and make tax-deductible donations to support the important work of local charities. All online donations that Campagna Academy receives Feb. 12 will go directly to support Campagna Academy’s mission for disadvantaged youth.

“An online day of giving has proven to be a successful model for fundraising across the country and in parts of our region,” said Lou Martinez, president of Lake Area United Way. “We are thrilled to partner with Legacy Foundation, the United Ways of Porter and La Porte counties, Foundations of East Chicago, Unity Foundation of La Porte County, corporate leaders, and nonprofit organizations from the three-county area to host an event that showcases the collective power of philanthropy in Northwest Indiana.

"NWIgives also highlights the important role nonprofits have in enhancing the quality of life in our communities.”
