SCHERERVILLE | Two Chicago men are accused of robbing a Schererville T-Mobile store at gunpoint.
Marcus S. Harris, 19, and Daniel T. Wright, 27, each were charged with one count of armed robbery and five counts of criminal confinement in Lake Criminal Court, according to court documents.
On Jan. 28, the men allegedly entered the store at 1150 U.S. 41, locked the door and forced five employees and one customer to the rear of the business.
According to a Schererville police news release, Wright took cellphones from a storage cage and Harris held the six people at gunpoint.
Police said Harris took cash from a safe before the men fled the store.
Harris allegedly kicked the customer while she was on the ground during the robbery.
Police said the men are in custody at LaPorte County Jail in connection to a similar incident that occurred in LaPorte.
Harris and Wright allegedly admitted their involvement in the Schererville armed robbery when detectives interviewed them at LaPorte County Jail.
Police believe the men were involved in other similar incidents in Indiana and Illinois.
