SCHERERVILLE | Multiple charges have been filed in separate cases in Schererville, police said in a release.
Michael Jolley, 55, of Gary, was charged with attempted fraud and attempted theft following an investigation conducted by Schererville police Detective Patrick Rosado, police said.
Jolley is accused of attempting to use another individual's credit card information to buy $600 worth of merchandise Dec. 14 at Menards in Schererville.
When the transaction was attempted, Menards loss prevention personnel notified Schererville police of the situation, police said.
In other, separate incidents, men were charged after officers working on Schererville's Special Operations Task Force issued citations on Jan. 9.
Police said Stephen M. Garcia, 21, of Schererville, was charged with possession of paraphernalia.
Dillon E. Prendergast, 18, of Schererville, was charged with possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana, police said.
