SCHERERVILLE | A 24-year-old Dyer woman is accused of stealing cash from a Schererville business during her first and second days of employment there.

Tiffany Womac started employment Feb. 6 at Schererville Gyros, 1120 W. Lincoln Highway.

Court documents state $750 was missing from the business' safe and register that day.

Her second day of work there was Feb. 13, and $1,400 was missing from the restaurant's safe and register that day, according to the documents.

Video surveillance from Feb. 6 shows Womac taking money from the safe and register and putting it in her pant leg or socks, the documents state.

In video surveillance from Feb. 13, Womac is seen walking toward the safe and cash register and later walking away counting money.

Womac was charged with two counts of felony theft in Lake Criminal Court.
