MUNSTER | After a fire damaged the linens and cleaning supplies of the Humane Society Calumet Area earlier this year, JAK’S Warehouse in Schererville and Pet Supplies Plus in Dyer joined forces to organize a Fire Relief Drive. During a two-week collection, local animal lovers came out in droves to show support with donations of towels, blankets, cleaning supplies, food, and more.

To reward donors, JAK’S Warehouse, an indoor family fun center, distributed free $5 game cards for every item contributed, while Pet Supplies Plus provided an extra 10 percent off anything bought and donated in store. Donations were accepted at both locations.

“We at JAK’S Warehouse pride ourselves on being part of a great community,” said Lisa Carpenter, director of Sales and Marketing. “We’d like to thank everyone for their support in this great cause and for not hesitating to give back.”

The Humane Society Calumet Area, with a no-kill philosophy, provides shelter and medical treatment for unwanted and abandoned animals while seeking suitable adoptive homes. For more information, visit http://www.hscalumet.org.
