The Schererville Chamber of Commerce will host its 50th annual All-you-can-eat Corn Roast on Friday at Redar Park, Austin and Gregory streets.

The corn’s being picked, Strack and Van Til store and Teibel’s Restaurant are working on the sides, the entertainment (featuring Dick Diamond and the Dusters) and vendors are confirmed and the American Legion Post 485 Beer Garden is stocked.

All we need is you.

The roast runs from 4 to 8 p.m. and the beer garden remains open until 11.

Tickets are $7 for ages 12 and older, $4 for children 5 to 11 and free for children 4 and younger. A ticket entitles you to AYCE grilled corn dipped in butter (or not), one hot dog or Polish sausage sandwich, sauerkraut and one can of pop.

There will be canopies to sit under, but please bring  chairs/blankets for seating.

Dick Diamond and The Dusters will entertain from 5 to 8 p.m. thanks to the Residences at Deer Creek, BMW of Schererville and The Halls of St. George. Visit with Rusty the RailCat or take part in one of our contests, like Culver’s Custard Eating Contest. There will be lots of vendors and a Moonwalk for the kids.

Catalyst Productions will be helping with music, and Schererville’s own RAK Brothers will entertaining in the beer tent until 11.

We hope you can make it, it’s always fun and all the lines move quickly. Redar Park is a beautiful, family-friendly park with a great playground. Check it out every Thursday when Schererville’s Park Department hosts its Farmers Market, with entertainment, from 3 to 8 p.m.
