SCHERERVILLE | In honor of the Read Across America program, kindergartners at Forest Ridge Academy spent a week learning about the popular children’s author, Theodor Seuss Geisel.
Students in Kristy Sliger's and Kelly Rodriguez’s classes read many of Seuss’ beloved books such as "Horton Hears a Who," "Daisy-head Mayzie," and "There’s a Wocket in my Pocket."
After reading Dr. Seuss’, "Bartholomew and the Ooobleck," students made oobleck using cornstarch and water. This activity went along with their science unit about solids and liquids.
When asked what his favorite part of Dr. Seuss week was, student Ayush Mishra said he liked the Dr. Seuss cupcakes his teacher made and playing with Oobleck.
“The students really enjoyed Dr. Seuss week and all of the fun activities we did," said Sliger.
