MERRILLVILLE | Arthur Stark — musician, caterer and owner of two Schererville businesses, Scarborough Faire Catering and The Pie Piper restaurant — won the Dancin’ with the Local Stars competition last week at the Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza.
The 49-year-old entertainer and entrepreneur performed the paso doble, a Spanish dance with a bullfighting theme, with professional instructor Jessica Sartori of Gotta Dance in Schererville.
“I joyfully got beat up for the last eight weeks (learning the dance),” Stark said prior to the contest. “I loved the physicality. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. Jessica has made it a fantastic experience. She is gentle and firm.”
The contest was held during the first day of the 20th annual Indiana Challenge dance competition organized by Tim and Sue Bourget, of Schererville. They donated a portion of the proceeds from the four-day competition to the Lake Area United Way for the fourth year.
