SCHERERVILLE | A driver is in critical condition after being extricated from his car following a head-on collision Wednesday night.

Three cars were involved in the crash, which happened about 5:45 p.m. on U.S. 30, west of U.S. 41, Schererville Fire Chief Joseph Kruzan said.

Witnesses said the man was driving erratically before crashing into another vehicle, which hit a third car. The other two cars involved also had male drivers, neither of whom was injured, Kruzan said.

There were no other passengers in either car, and the cause of the crash has not been determined, Kruzan said.
