SCHERERVILLE | A group of local women has formed a new chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha, a leadership and service sorority, in the Northwest Indiana area. The local chapter is Chi Omega, and its focus is on service, education, and social activities for members (women 18 and older). The chapter's education platform for the year is literacy, and members have donated books to an early intervention literacy program for underserved communities. Other interests are the Autism Walk and Ronald McDonald House. Upcoming chapter meetings are scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. April 30 and May 28 at the St. John Township Community Center, 1515 W. U.S. 30.
